The pitching slate is loaded today with no fewer than six true aces taking the mound. Problem is, three are pitching this afternoon, including Clayton Kershaw. MORE FANTASY: Prospect rankings | Waiver wire pickups | Fantasy football rankings That makes it a littler easier to fade the aces in each slate, but you know at least one of those guys is going to score big. Let’s take a look at today’s full starting pitcher rankings and picks....

These are the kinds of days I like in the DFS world, at least when it comes to pitching. There are a couple legit aces, some high-quality second-tier pitchers with good matchups, and a few boom-or-bust options further down our rankings. You can make a case for a lot of hurlers, both expensive and cheapish, so there should be a lot of differentiation among lineups in both cash games and tournaments....

There are several big-name pitchers going on Saturday; however, some of those stud SPs are either struggling or have tough matchups. It’s pretty clear who the best pitchers are during each slate, but the No. 2 choice is where things are maybe a bit interesting in two-SP formats like DraftKings. Paying for high-priced bats will be difficult, but there are some very nice mid-tier offensive palyers from which to choose, including the red-hot Mark Trumbo and the locked-in Albert Pujols....

Jake Arrieta is the top pitching choice tonight coming off his second career no-hitter. The fact that he’s the only legitimate ace going tonight only strengthens his case. However, I have my doubts about using him for several reasons. First, pitchers coming off of a no-hitter tend to struggle in their next outings. I can’t explain why, but check out the numbers: Since 2012, pitchers coming off of a no-no have gone 4-6 with a 4....

It couldn’t be more fitting, that on St. Patrick’s day, the team that stands out most on tonight’s slate is the Boston Celtics, who are without Isaiah Thomas. The rest of their lineup is underpriced – and playing the Brooklyn Nets – but we’ll get to that in a moment. Thought the coincidence was worth mentioning, and maybe some luck of the Irish takes us to the top of a tournament!...

I can’t stress enough about how to approach the end of the season. Some of what I write about now could honestly be useless come lock time. On an 11-game slate, the news that comes out is certainly going to determine the direction you should be taking. It’s still worth it to discuss and examine the best spots here, especially for when value does break, but you cannot be unavailable at lock if you expect to win anything....

With three matchups on the board, we find it is easiest to pick out the top producers and values, as there are far fewer variables involved and less ways things can go wrong for your lineup picks. It doesn’t hurt that all three games are being played in domed stadiums this year, either. So, our advice is to load up and play on the greatest day of the year....

In fact, players like Smith are the ones whose actions have informed Prescott to aim for the opposite — knowing they can get Jerry Jones to pay them what they’re worth (and then some) to Dallas. In an interview with Bleacher Report’s Adam Lefkoe, Smith said Prescott should consider taking less money for the betterment of the Cowboys. The Cowboys signed their star quarterback to a four-year contract worth $160 million, which will make him the second-highest paid player in the NFL behind Patrick Mahomes both in terms of total value of the contract and average annual salary. The Cowboys are yet to formally disclose the terms of the deal, but ESPN and NFL Network both reported the contract includes $126 million in guaranteed money and a signing bonus of $66 million, the highest in NFL history....

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones says Dak Prescott, who has a $630,000 base salary this season, is “going to get extended,” and the timetable is the upcoming offseason when the QB will have one year left on his rookie contract. The size of the extension will depend on how Prescott finishes his third NFL season. The final five regular-season games this year, plus playoffs, will be the most important of Prescott’s career....
