On Tuesday night, Jeter stepped into the batter’s box at Minnesota’s Target Field to lead off the bottom of the first inning for the American League All-Star team, and Sheppard’s voice was there to greet him.
After tipping his cap to the fans, Jeter stepped in and laced an opposite-field double off Adam Wainwright, but not before a fan scremed “OVERRATED” to the 14-time All-Star.
Jeter scored on a triple by the very next hitter, Mike Trout.
