The situation was costly, but not as much as it could have been. Martin Truex Jr. exited a few laps later with an apparent engine failure, which would end his Chase hopes after a few more green-flag laps. By Lap 47, Logano was 27th and Hamlin was 19th. Both remained on the lead lap.
