MORE: Draft winners and losers | Picks and analysis

It appeared to be an obvious subtweet to Sacramento’s moves, which involved selecting Marquese Chriss at No. 8 and then sending him to Phoenix for the 13th pick and Bogdan Bogdanovic (a 2014 first-rounder who has no NBA experience). They then used that 13th pick on Greek center Georgios Papagiannis, a player projected to go in the second round.

Cousins’ tweet gained attention, and on Friday he was asked about it by ESPN’s Marc J. Spears.

His response is essentially a way of saying, yes, it was about the draft, but he can’t officially go on record as saying that. Cousins has experience in subtweeting, so we’ll just add this to his resume.
