To get fans to their seats, the new grandstands will have 40 escalators, a big improvement from fans walking up steps to their seats. The three main concourses will be more expansive, with more room for fans to sit and chat — and check their phones and tweet — as well as modern concession stands.

About 40,000 of the new seats will be in place for the 2015 Daytona 500 with the rest ready fro the 2016 Daytona 500. The backstretch grandstands, which seats about 45,000, will be removed.

And what about ticket prices? Some ticket prices, for the higher seats with better sightlines, will be more than the current seats in similar but lower locations. The track also has promised that some seats will remain under $100 for the Daytona 500, which is the price of many of the tickets on the backstretch.
