David Lemieux Scores Knockout Of The Year Candidate Vs. Curtis Stevens

Both Stevens and Lemieux, renowned for their power in the middleweight division, were bombs away through two-and-a half rounds until Lemieux landed a knockout-of-the-year candidate on Stevens. 

And now, from another angle, and in slow motion.

Stevens was out before he hit the mat and — in a scary sight — didn’t seem to regain consciousness until a few minutes later. He was pulled out of the ring on a stretcher.

When HBO boxing analyst Max Kellerman asked what he saw on the knockout replay, Lemieux simply said “Checkmate.”
