The photo, in which Shelly is donning a Redskins hat, soon went viral.

Does this mean that all Native Americans are now in favor of Washington keeping the name? Probably not.

After all, the Navajo Nation actually voted against the use of the name on a 9-2 vote back in April.

That being said, it should be pointed out that Shelly has met with Snyder on several occasions, and the Navajo Nation’s radio station held a golf tournament which was sponsored by Snyder’s “Washington Redskins Origina Americans Foundation.” Such relationship which has drawn the ire of the Native American community.

This photo should have little to no effect on whether or not the team changes the name, but it will be responsible for creating more discussion on the issue.
