In addition to the Flyers, Briere played with the Coyotes, Sabres, Canadiens and Avalanche.
A first-round pick of the Coyotes (24th overall) in 1996, Briere averaged more points per game in the playoffs (0.93) than in the regular season (0.72), tallying 116 points in 124 career postseason games.
He scored 307 goals and added 389 assists in 973 regular-season games but scored only eight goals with four assists in 57 games with the Avalanche in 2014-15.
Although he announced his retirement through the Flyers, Briere’s most productive season came with the high-scoring Sabres in 2006-07 when he had 95 points, including a career-high 63 assists.
