NASCAR warned Elliott’s team after the No. 24 car failed template inspection twice. Elliott finished third at Dover.
NASCAR also announced:
— Dover runner-up Kyle Larson’s car failed the laser exam twice before the race. Larson drives for Chip Ganassi Racing. It’s the second warning for Larson’s No. 42 team.
— A member of David Ragan’s BK Racing No. 23 team was fined $1,000 for failure to “properly wear or secure mandatory safety apparel or equipment (i.e. head socks, under garments, helmet face shields, shoes, gloves, etc.).”
— Regan Smith’s car likewise failed laser inspection twice. Like Earnhardt, it’s the third failure for the No. 7 team.
