As always this time of year, cold temperatures are also a factor, as games could be postponed or significantly affected by chilly conditions. Windy games won’t see delays, but it’s important to know how gusty conditions are expected to be when setting your fantasy lineups.

Fortunately, our friends at Fantasy Alarm have all the information you need (and more) compiled in one place every day in their MLB Weather Center.

MLB Weather: Opening Day forecast, possible rain delays and postponements

Possible rain delays:

The Orioles-Red Sox game has already been postponed, while the Blue Jays-Yankees and Braves-Phillies could see potential late starts but likely nothing serious.

Cold temperature worries:

It’s going to be chilly for several games, with the Indians-Tigers possibly seeing temps around freezing. The Pirates-Cubs and Cardinals-Reds could also see temps in the 30s, while the Blue Jays-Yankees and possibly the Braves-Phillies and Rangers-Royals could see temps dip into the 40s. Overall, only the Indians-Tigers is likely to be in any danger of a “cold delay,” but even that seems unlikely. Cold temps often have a negative effect on hitters, so plan accordingly.

Windy conditions:

It’s going to be gusty for most of the early games today. The Blue Jays-Yankees could see winds of 15-20 mph blowing mostly right to left, while the Indians-Tigers could see 15-20-mph winds blowing out toward center. The Braves-Phillies, Cardinals-Reds, and Pirates-Cubs are expected to have winds around 15 mph blowing out from right to left, though it could be even gustier in Philadelphia.
