There are some big names on the mound today, but be careful where you spend your money. Some of those aces haven’t been hitting value and others are in tough matchups. Meanwhile, there are plenty of other solid aces and values in plus matchups ready to deliver, so don’t take the risk if you don’t have to.

Daily fantasy baseball picks

Splurge: Felix Hernandez, Mariners vs. Twins. If Jon Lester is out of the mix in the afternoon game, I’d be willing to pay up for Hernandez ($11,000 on FD; $11,900 on DK) against the Twins, who whiff a ton vs. RHPs.

Sell: Jacob deGrom, Mets vs. Dodgers. deGrom ($9,600 on FD; $9,900 on DK) hasn’t hit 30 FanDuel points in the past month, so he’s not worth this price tag with plenty of other solid aces and values on the board.

Save: Robbie Ray, D-backs vs. Padres. I’m taking a chance on Ray ($6,800 on FD; $8,700 on DK) in this favorable matchup. He’s quietly striking out 9.9 batters per 9 innings and the Padres hit just .230/.302/.385 against LHPs.
