Tonight’s slate features a bunch of aces (Max Scherzer, Noah Syndergaard, Madison Bumgarner, David Price, Yu Darvish) and the debut of, perhaps, a future ace (Jameson Taillon). Add in a bunch of solid “second-tier” pitchers, and there are plenty of choices for tonight’s DraftKings and FanDuel contests.

Splurge: Noah Syndergaard, Mets at Pirates. All eyes will be on Jameson Taillon in Pittsburgh tonight, but Syndergaard is certainly the better bet for DFS owners. In his last three full starts, Syndergaard has struck out at least nine in each outing, walked just one total, and gone 3-0 over 21 innings.

Save: Julio Teheran, Braves at Padres. Teheran isn’t all that cheap on DraftKings ($10,900), but on FanDuel ($8,200), he offers great value. The big worry is that he’s going up against Drew Pomeranz, so the prospects of a win are reduced, but Teheran struggles against lefties, and San Diego doesn’t have many that can hurt him.

Sell: Madison Bumgarner, Giants vs. Red Sox. To be clear, we’re not saying you should definitely avoid Bumgarner, but given that he’s the most expensive pitcher on FanDuel ($11,400) and fifth-most on DraftKings ($11,600), there are plenty of other options that might provide better value. The Red Sox have the best road OPS and best OPS vs. LHPs in baseball.
