In the afternoon slate, there aren’t really any notable pitchers to choose from other than Gerrit Cole. He faces probably his favorite opponent, the Milwaukee Brewers. In three starts this year, he’s thrown seven innings of one-run ball all three times, and most recently, he racked up 10 strikeouts. His counterpart Jimmy Nelson, a normally tough opponent, is winless against the Pirates this year. The other afternoon pitcher to consider is Danny Duffy against the A’s.
In the evening, the aforementioned Darvish and Carlos Carrasco are high-cost options but should produce a lot of points. Marcus Stroman and Cole Hamels are both good bets to go deep into their games. In terms of value plays, Eduardo Rodriguez might be worth a look. Rodriguez is coming off back-to-back good starts and faces a Cardinals team striking out a ton lately.

For tonight’s main slate, the weather in Minnesota is something we need to monitor thoughout the day. The Indians are in a great spot vs. Kyle Gibson, but we obviously need to make sure this game is played. There is also some slight concern in Chicago and Colorado, but both games are looking to be played without any setbacks. Good luck tonight! – Ben Scherr
