Luis Severino will likely be highly owned in cash games, as well, and Justin Verlander, despite his struggles this year, should get a boost in ownership because of his matchup against the Royals. Sonny Gray, fresh off an 11-K game, and Ivan Nova, who tends to dominate in Pittsburgh, both look like solid choices, though you could be hurting for strikeouts with Nova.
When it comes to GPPs, boom-or-bust guys like Vince Velasquez, Trevor Bauer, and rookie Dinelson Lamet are high-K options. If you’re really adventurous, Tyler Anderson in Colorado has the tools to spin a gem while being very low owned.

After an “interesting” Memorial Day (to say the least), we’re back at it again on Tuesday with another full slate. We have one early start at 6:10 pm ET in Cleveland (A’s-Indians) and then a 14-game “main” slate starting at 7:05 pm ET.
Looking at today’s positional strength chart, first base is usually a position we like to pay up for – for obvious reasons. Today, however, we are seeing a few value plays that are leading us to consider going a bit cheaper at first and spending elsewhere. The biggest question today for roster construction is whether to pay that salary for Chris Sale. If you choose to, you can find some value bats elsewhere (see below).
Weather-wise, there is some rain expected tonight in Baltimore (Yankees-Orioles) with some heavy-hitters playing in that one. We’ll keep an eye on things throughout the day. We will still highlight players in the Playbook but will make decisions on the Optimal Lineups later on the in the day.
