If you want to be different and go against Scherzer tonight, you can dip down as far as No. 18 or so and still feel reasonably comfortable you can get a big performance. Under-the-radar guys like Jeff Hoffman, Sean Newcomb, Matt Strahm, Mike Clevinger, and Taijuan Walker all provide good value, and most have good matchups.
Even dipping down further, guys like Mike Fiers (1.42 ERA in June) and Jhoulys Chacin (1.72 ERA at home) have the potential to come through in DFS contests.

We have a full 15-game slate tonight, and after Max Scherzer, it’s pretty wide open in terms of cash-game options – and extremely wide open for tournaments. Of the 15 games, only two of them have starting pitchers with winning records facing each other (Jake Arrieta-Max Scherzer and Sean Manaea-Mike Fiers). There are still some other solid pitching options, though.
Hitting-wise, the Red Sox check in with the largest projected run total tonight, with the Blue Jays and Indians once again right behind them. There are plenty of other teams that have nice run totals, as well. Good luck! – Ben Scherr
