The rest of our top five (Corey Kluber, Jon Lester, and Michael Fulmer), as well as No. 7 (Brad Peacock) and No. 9 (Lance Lynn) are starting in the afternoon, so there are plenty of potential picks for those contests.

If you’re looking for sleepers, boom-or-bust rookie Dinelson Lamet is a GPP option given his favorable matchup against the Braves in San Diego. If you’re really daring, you could try your luck with Homer Bailey, who gave up eight runs last week in his first start of the season.

Several top-notch pitchers to the mound today, and as of this writing, I believe it’s going to be hard to avoid spending up for pitchers, so trying to find as much value as possible for hitters is important. FanDuel has done a decent job of reducing prices to allow for this, and we’ll monitor the lineups as they come out to provide our best examples for the main slate action. As usual, look for those lineups on Fantasy Alarm a few hours before first pitch.

Atlanta LHHs against Dinelson Lamet - -1.148 OPS in 65 ABs

Toronto LHHs against Ubaldo Jimenez – 1.065 OPS in 131 ABs

Yankees against James Shields – LHHs preferred, but 1.095 OPS against at home this year

Dodgers LHHs against JC Ramirez – .961 OPS in 167 ABs

There is a little weather risk in the northern Midwest, but nothing that really looks like a significant threat for cancellations. The biggest risks at the moment are to Detroit (hosting Kansas City) and the White Sox (hosting the Yankees). Cleveland-Texas may have a delay this afternoon, as well, so keep an eye on that Weather Center for all of the updates on the weather front. – Nick Berns
