The fact Sale is going head-to-head with one of April’s other top pitchers, Ervin Santana, potentially takes another good hurler out of the player pool. While Santana and the Twins could certainly get the better of Boston’s newest ace, it’s a risk that’s tough to take when “wins” are so important. There aren’t a ton of other high-K guys going on the main slate (especially with Jon Lester and Luis Severino starting in the lone evening game), but guys like Danny Duffy and Tyler Glasnow can rack up Ks and are available at different price points, which could help those with varying budget strategies.

Ultimately, this looks like a day where “boring” guys like Michael Wacha, Tanner Roark, and even Sonny Gray could help people cash in GPPs. If Sale has an off-game, then anything could happen.

Sunday’s slate is challenging if you play on both FanDuel and Draftkings. DK is sticking with their afternoon-only eight-game main slate, while FD has added two games, including the Arizona-Colorado game. This opens up multiple GPP options for FD, but not as much for DK.

Chris Sale is the top pitcher by far today and will be tough to fade in cash games. Figuring out who to pair with him on DK will be a struggle, as the Blue Jays are the only team outside of the Twins with an implied run total under four runs.  Weather-wise, it looks like all games will play today, but keep an eye on the weather page for any changes over the next few hours.

While FD includes the Coors game that features both teams at over 5.5 projected runs, the rest of the games have teams with projected runs no higher than 4.5 (Pirates).  This really opens up the slate, providing no real clear choices outside of the pitcher choice with Sale. Good luck! – Ben Scherr
