Fortunately, there are plenty of good pitching options. Max Scherzer is once again the top dog, but there is no shortage of high-strikeout, high-upside alternatives. One thing working against guys like Carlos Martinez, Alex Wood, and James Paxton is that they’re starting on the road in bonafide hitters parks, which potentially lowers their respective values.
If you want to dig a little deeper in GPPs, Steven Matz, making his second start of the season, and Drew Pomeranz, always a wild card, also have high-K upside, but both face tough matchups. Braves rookie Sean Newcomb is also making his second start of the year, and with an easier matchup against the Marlins, he could be a popular sleeper.
