To be fair, it’s not necessarily a good idea to go sleeper shopping for guys facing aces like Chris Sale (vs. Mariners) or Jon Lester (vs. Mets), but we still like to point out the players who traditionally hit very well against southpaws. If, say, Franklin Gutierrez has a good game, you’ll have a big leg up on your competitors in FanDuel and DraftKings tournaments. However, for cash games, you’re better off using one or two value bats against the mediocre pitchers below, plus paying up for a few studs.
