Santos said Sunday he fractured his skull in the loss after he was hit in the head by Page’s flying knee.

“I’m under observation now and will have surgery in the United States,” Santos told MMA Fighting . “I had a serious injury, but Bellator is giving me all the support I need.”

His ex-wife, former MMA fighter Cris “Cyborg” Justino posted an Instagram photo that showed what appeared to be an x-ray post of Santos’ head following the fight. It features a set of prominent cracks above the browline.
