CupcakeKD is a play on a running joke among Thunder teammates. A Sports Illustrated story revealed that former Thunder center Kendrick Perkins used to call his teammates “cupcakes” when they were playing soft. That story ran months after Russell Westbrook posted a photo of Fourth of July cupcakes on the day Durant announced he’d join the Warriors.
Now, CupcakeKD has come to life and it’s kind of likable until you read its ruthless Twitter account.
The cupcake also has the same birthday as Durant.
CupcakeKD is wearing a Warriors hat and has #CupcakeKD written on its side. Its been spotted all around Chesapeake Energy Arena and will probably earn serious air time.
