The posted photos show multiple bruises to various parts of her body and include a caption that asks for women not to take abuse from men. In the first post, Thompson did not mention Elliott by name. But in a second post, she tagged Elliott’s Instagram user name.
The NFL will investigate the allegations, according to Pro Football Talk. Thompson’s account has since been taken down, but here’s how the initial caption read:
TMZ Sports reported Friday morning that a woman had filed a report with the Columbus, Ohio, police department. Per the report, she declined medical treatment, and Elliott denied any wrongdoing. He was not arrested or charged. TMZ also obtained the 911 call from Elliott’s accuser.
The narrative, via the police report obtained by Elevenwarriors.com:
“Victim 1 stated she was assaulted by her former live-in boyfriend, Suspect 1, in the rear parking lot of the above location on the listed date and time while sitting in the driver’s seat of her parked vehicle. Witness 1, who was sitting in the passenger seat of that vehicle, stated she did not observe Suspect 1 assault Victim 1. Witness 2, Witness 3 and Witness 4 stated they were all in the parking lot and observed the entire interaction between Victim 1 and Suspect 1 and did not observe an assault. Suspect 1 denied assaulting Victim 1. Suspect 1 stated that he has never lived with Victim 1. Victim 1 stated that she has pain in her right wrist and a red mark, but declined medical treatment. Due to conflicting statements between Victim 1 and the suspect and witnesses, along with the inability at the time of the report to prove recent co-habitation, Victim 1 was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.”
The Cowboys do not believe the allegations against Elliott are true, according to the Star-Telegram, and Elliott said the bruises to his girlfriend “came as a result of a bar fight with another woman.”
Thompson’s name has been attached to Elliott under previous circumstances. Her Twitter account is private, but it’s not clear when she decided to protect her tweets.

The Cowboys had a public relations headache last season when they signed Greg Hardy, who was initially found guilty of assaulting his girlfriend before the case was dismissed. The team moved on from Hardy this offseason.
Elliott was the fourth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
