The monks in Phuket, Thailand, expressed concerns about the crocodile potentially attacking people who feed turtles in the pond, according to The Phuket Express. The Phuket Fisheries Office on Friday removed the large reptile from the pond before it was able to hurt anyone, The Thaiger reported. It is not uncommon for crocodiles to show up in strange places across Thailand. Last month, a crocodile was found in a small pond in a wooded area on Charoen Krung soi 107 in Bangkok, according to The Thaiger....

The tragic incident took place on Sunday evening in the south of the country, near the town of Balabac, which is surrounded by three dozen islands and where a diminishing habitat has led to a number of confrontations between the reptiles and humans. The boy’s two siblings managed to flee. The victim’s body parts were found two days later by a fisherman in a mangrove swamp nearly 60 miles away....

Officials from the region’s conservation and environmental agency CapeNature said the reptiles—juvenile Nile crocodiles—dispersed into the wild on Wednesday via a hole in a wired fence at a legal facility outside of Bonnievale in the Western Cape province. The public has been told not to approach any of the Nile crocodiles, which are believed to range in sizes between 3.9 and 4.9 feet, wildlife experts said. As of Thursday, officials said a total of 27 crocodiles had been recaptured and returned to the facility, which was not identified by name....

According to a Friday report from the Associated Press, Cuomo’s office has denied a request to hand over the documents to the news outlet. Curtis Floyd Price died of natural causes shortly before 2 a.m. on Monday at San Quentin State Prison, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) said in a news release. Officials didn’t say if his death was connected to the recent COVID outbreak at the prison. The exact cause of death will be determined by the Marin County Coroner, the CDCR said in the release. He was sentenced to death in 1986 for the 1983 killings of Richard Barnes and Elizabeth Ann Hickey....

The sophisticated cyber security attack compromised the ICRC’s Restoring Family Links service, which helps reunite families separated due to war, violence, natural disasters and other humanitarian crises. Hackers were able to gain access to “names, locations, and contact information” of more than 500,000 people receiving services from the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the ICRC said. This includes missing individuals and children who had been separated from their parents....
