It was a rough Sunday night for Dallas. First, the Cowboys lost to the Eagles 17-9 in a game that could have clinched the (hapless) NFC East. Instead, the Cowboys’ hopes at a second consecutive division crown hangs in the balance with Week 17 games the deciding factor. Should the Eagles beat the Giants, the division is wrapped up for Philly. (Good luck with rooting for an upset). But that’s just where the trouble for Jerry’s boys started....

After six games, though, Mike McCarthy’s staff is under attack from within. Following a 38-10 loss to the Cardinals, several players anonymously trashed their new coaches for being “totally unprepared” to face Arizona. Their comments insinuate things were done better under Garrett, a surprising conclusion given the team’s penchant for disappointing under their former coach. “(Our coaches) just aren’t good at their jobs,” one Cowboys player told NFL Network’s Jane Slater....

Not only did the Cowboys running back show himself without a shirt, but he even directed the camera at a scale, which hovered at about 230 pounds. Elliott is listed at 228 on his official NFL.com page, so he’s clearly right in the same area he’s always been. All of this is in response to people who saw a photo of Elliott over the weekend and decided to comment on it....

Rookie linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was the difference maker for the Cowboys. Late in the fourth quarter Vander Esch made a shoestring tackle to set up a fourth down try that the Eagles couldn’t convert. He contributed 13 tackles and his first career interception. The Eagles’ defense was unable to contain Ezekiel Elliott, who had 187 total yards, including 19 carries for 151 yards. Elliott contributed two touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving....

In a Facebook post shared on Wednesday, the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma said that they had received reports the day before of a cow being shot “in the area of W. 460 and N 442 roads in Pryor.” Speaking with Newsweek, Major Rod Howell of the Mayes County Sheriff’s Office said that the person who owned the cow showed a picture of the dead animal to officers. The cow was valued between $800 and $1,000 according to Howell....

Things are changing. At Wednesday night’s debate an uncharacteristically flustered Romney was caught off guard and seemed distracted at times, at one point denying one of his own positions on immigration policy (a debate moderator read a prior comment Romney had made on the issue to set him straight). Worse, Romney has reportedly chosen not to advertise in the more than 20 states set to vote in Tuesday’s critical round of Republican primaries....

Owner Nataly, from Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, took a photo of her cat, Murka, except the feline isn’t immediately visible in the snap. Nataly shared the photo to the popular @Thereisnocat_ Twitter page, something of a Where’s Wally for cats. As reported by CBS New York, the accident took place around 4:30 p.m. on an I-78 entrance ramp in Newark. The semi truck reportedly overturned, pushing the Toyota Corolla off the road on its way down. The driver of the Toyota, a man in his 50s, was then trapped inside his vehicle, says ABC7 New York. Newark firefighters soon arrived at the scene and removed the man from his car within an hour....

A bill in the state legislature would allow designated sites in the state to conduct open air cremations—a funeral ritual that dates back thousands of years but has largely disappeared from the modern-day United States. There are actually two sites in the U.S. where open-air cremation is allowed, both of which are in Colorado, the Sun Journal reported. Only one of these sites is open to the public and is limited to conducting no more than a dozen funeral every year....
