Take note that the Braves-Mets, Blue Jays-Rays, Mariners-Astros, and Giants-Diamondbacks are the four games starting after 4:05 pm ET. Unfortunately, that removes some of today’s top options (Marcus Stroman, Matt Harvey, Jeff Samardzija, etc.) from afternoon contests, but there are still several high-upside hurlers who will be available. The two games with the highest Vegas point totals are the Pelicans-Nuggets (230.5) and the Thunder-Suns (227.5). This doesn’t mean the lowest total game (Spurs-Mavs, 189.5), doesn’t have fantasy potential, though. As always, projected point totals are an important part of any DFS strategy, so use these numbers wisely. Earnhardt passed teammate Jimmie Johnson for the lead on a green-white-checkered restart and had a healthy advantage on Kevin Harvick when Kurt Busch was turned by Clint Bowyer, resulting in a caution and another two-lap dash to the finish.
