Perhaps the biggest decision DFS players will make tonight is whether they think Max Scherzer or Jacob deGrom will get the better of their head-to-head matchup. While both can put up huge numbers, obviously only one can walk away with that all-important win. Carlos Carrasco might be the better high-priced option for this reason alone. Jake Arrieta can also have a big performance, but he has a tough matchup in Boston, if that scares you....

Zack Greinke and Justin Verlander both face poor offenses, and they should rack up some Ks. Jacob deGrom has had back-to-back bad outings, and he has another tough test with the Nationals tonight. Like always, he still has the potential to put up zeroes and record eight or more strikeouts against anyone, so expect to see him in a lot of lineups. Kenta Maeda has 21 strikeouts in his past 16 innings, and the Brewers have a top-three K-rate against righties....

That’s especially true with pitchers, where four of the top five in our rankings are playing day games. While Jon Lester stands out at the top choice, Dylan Bundy and his eight-game quality start streak isn’t far behind, especially with Miguel Cabrera (oblique) out. The evening slate is headlined by Marcus Stroman, who will be a very popular pick in cash games. For GPPs, Jordan Montgomery and Edinson Volquez both have high strikeout potential and could rack up big points if they can limit runs....

There’s a lot of ace-level talent and potential value pitchers on the mound Thursday, in both the afternoon and evening slates. The problem is that a lot of those aces and values are facing each other or a tough offense, making it difficult to predict a win for any. That means DFS owners are going to have to dig into the numbers a little more to find the right matchups and/or values on the mound....

It feels as if there are many more players in play tonight than usual, and there are multiple routes people can take in both cash and GPP contests. The Bulls will be without both Dwyane Wade and Jimmy Butler, and it’s unclear who exactly will take the lead for them. Kyle Korver will be making his Cavs debut, but you will want to wait for a better matchup than the Jazz to target him....

The 24-year-old safety was rushed to the UCMC last Monday, after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the field during the Bills game with the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin received CPR while being treated for 30 minutes by medical staff at the game before being rushed to hospital, where he was on a ventilator for two days. On Friday, Hamlin had recovered enough to be able to walk around a little and medical staff made arrangements for him to return to Buffalo and be closer to his family and teammates....

The soon-to-be 32-year-old has agreed to sign a two-year extension with the Trail Blazers, according to multiple reports. Lillard played in just 29 games last season before being shut down with an abdominal injury. When he did suit up, though, he averaged 24.0 points, 7.3 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. When the Trail Blazers traded away stalwart CJ McCollum last season, many thought that move would mark the end of the Lillard era, especially since his name has been mentioned in trade rumors for multiple seasons....

The Trump-backed Republican candidate for Georgia’s Senate race has been accused of paying for a former girlfriend’s abortion in 2009, an apparent contradiction of Walker’s proclaimed pro-life beliefs. Walker, a former football player, has been vocal about his opposition to abortion rights, likening terminating a pregnancy to murder. But on Monday, The Daily Beast reported that Walker paid a $700 check to his ex-girlfriend to pay for an abortion at a time when the two were dating....
