Nursing home staff cases rose 10,353 in the week ending December 27, a jump of about 80 percent from the week prior, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data. Resident case rates rose slightly, as residents are vaccinated at a significantly higher rate than staff, and death rates among residents stayed about the same as deaths among staff tripled to 58 over the last week.
